.february.

they say february is the month of love, and i've certainly been feeling that love this month! i can't say enough how really really awesome it has been to get so much positive feedback on lila's room and my lila was here project. so fun to stumble upon such wonderful comments and to see my girl's room while surfing blogland ๐Ÿ™‚ other highlights of the month included valentine's day, spending time at the new recreation centre that opened near our house, and of course, mark's birthday (which we celebrated a handful of times in order to draw out the celebration).

again, i had fully intended to get a little less abstract image of the three of us this month, but this will have to do for february. even though it's not what i had planned on, it's us, and it's an accurate snapshot of "right now", which is the whole point anyways ๐Ÿ™‚ maybe next monthโ€ฆ

i borrowed an underwater digital camera from a friend this day, and i'm definitely adding an underwater camera to my shopping list for before we head out for my next destination wedding in a few months! (if anyone has an underwater point and shoot they love, i'd love to hear about it!)

valentine's day was extra fun this year as along with getting to make some crafts with miss li and decorating the mantle (did you notice her masterpiece up there?!), it was also the first time i got to make valentine's for lila's little buddies. i take no credit for the cuteness, as i kept it pretty simple and found this awesome template online. i just printed them on cardstock, cut them out and decorated with some felt, string, lollipops and some cheesy sayings to entertain the two year old crowd ๐Ÿ™‚ (think, "you arrrrrr sweet!")

03.07.11 eta: i can't believe i forgot to include the family day long weekend in my monthly recap! in alberta (and a handful of other canadian provinces) we celebrate family day on the third monday in february! this year lila was old enough to partake in some of the festivities offered around the city so we set off on the choo choo train (light rail transit) downtown to check out an indoor carnival! face paint, balloons, princess crowns and hot dogs were some of the highlights for miss li ๐Ÿ™‚ as evidenced by the photos, the little lady was recovering from her first fat lip that she earned while playing hard at gymnastics the day before.

like last month, my pinterest addiction is still going strong and i think my mind is full of enough craft ideas and recipes to last all year. that said, aside from making a few purchases (i think shopping might just be my number one talent), i've yet to actually *do* anything i have pinned, so the goal for march is to change that! materials and ingredients for a few projects and meals have been purchased and hopefully by next month's post i'll have a few goodies to share ๐Ÿ™‚

and while we're on the subject of shopping, one of the questions that came up most often in january's post, was where do i find all of lila's clothes. i shop all over the place, and i check out new stock pretty frequently at my favourite stores so a quick answer isn't particularly easy in this case. however, i'm thinking as i get the hang of this personal blogging thing, i'll add in some kid style/"what to wear" posts every once in a while. it should be especially beneficial to clients with sessions coming upโ€ฆ and for those of you who, like me, just like to shop ๐Ÿ™‚

one thing i can tell you, is that as a general rule, most of the things that i purchase for lila are clothes i would wear myself. there are, of course, a few exceptions from time to time, but i figure i might as well take advantage of picking her clothes while i can. in a year or two there's a chance she'll only want to wear pink and purple unicorn sweatsuits ๐Ÿ˜‰ in the meantime, while i still have some say, here are a few of my favourite recent purchases from one of my very favourite stores, zara.

seems like a little wishful thinking when looking outside at the fresh snow and thirty below zero temperatures today, but (fingers crossed) spring will be here before we know it and i for one, cannot wait!! happy march ๐Ÿ™‚ xox, andrea.
